2nd Project meeting at Colegio Montesclaros in Cerceda (Madrid) - Spain ( 12th - 18th April 2015)
During the 2nd project meeting in Spain, which was really creative and successful, the coordinator teacher of the host Spanish school Mrs Amparo Torrents and also Mrs Marta Manzadena Garcia, Mrs Sussanah Claire Chamberlain and other teachers of the host school welcomed the guest partner teachers and pupils from:

The meeting program concluded:
On the arrival day of partners (Sunday the 12th April), after the welcoming at homes of the gust pupils, from host families, a welcoming dinner of all partner teachers in “El Aljarafe” restaurant in Colmenar Viejo, which was the town where all guest teachers accommodated at hostal El Chiscon.
The 2nd day, Monday the 13th, in the morning all guests driven with host teachers cars at Montesclaros school and after a short visit at some classes, they visited Prado museum, Retiro park and Plaza del Sol in Madrid with coach hired from host school.
After a lunch near Plaza Mayor and a walk around the square they departed for Cerceda and Colmenar Viejo, where all partner teachers had dinner in “El Chiscon” restaurant.
During the 3rd meeting day, Tuesday the 14th, the guests visited by coach in the morning, la Cathedral de la Almudena and El Palacio Real in Madrid and they had lunch in Ermita restaurant in the middle of a beautiful landscape area.
In the afternoon there was a workshop at school of teaching Spanish language, where teachers and students learned some basic vocabulary. Later on there was a meeting between the partner teachers who discussed about the progress of the project and after they had dinner in “La Cabana” restaurant.
The 5th meeting day, Thursday the 16th, guest teachers and pupils visited the marvelous Royal Palace of La Granja de San Ildelfonso town, close to Segovia and had lunch at “La Terraza” restaurant in the small town.
In the afternoon there was a celebration of Saint Cecilia’s Day at school, the Patron Saint of music. The rest of evening was free and the Spanish tapas and local beer tasting was repeated from guest teachers.

I'On the 4th meeting day, Wednesday the 15th, after arriving at school all partner teachers and pupils had an interesting route around La Pedritza Education center and area and later they arrived at school in order to have lunch with local Spanish cuisine.
In the afternoon, there was a festival held at school where the host music teachers and students showed to guests how to dance typical traditional Spanish dances like “Sevillanas” and “Chotis”.
During the evening, while the guest pupils have departed for host homes, the partner teachers tasted typical tapas and Spanish beers in Colmenar Viejo.

On Friday the 17th, the 6th meeting day, the visiting teachers and pupils had a visit to the town halls in El Boalo and Cerceda, where the Mayor welcomed them. Later on they visited the castle of Manzanares El Real and after this visit they returned at school in order to have a nice lunch at school’s canteen and a very interesting power point presentation about the history of Spain. Later in the afternoon, the partner pupils and teachers participated in a sports competition at school.
Early evening the Greek delegation having earned an very nice experience from the visit, departed for Madrid in order to fly next morning back home. The other partner teachers had farewell dinner in Colmenar Viejo, on Friday night.
Saturday the 18th, was the departure date for rest partners and all partner delegations after a short walk around Colmenar Viejo, visiting the beautiful Basilica, departed for Madrid airport and from there with different flights they flew back to their countries ve a nice lunch at school’s canteen and a very interesting power point presentation about the history of Spain. Later in the afternoon, the partner pupils and teachers participated in a sports competition at school.

SATURDAY 11th APRIL 2015
12:10: Arrival of Greek partners at Barajas Airport. They will go to Madrid.
23:45: Arrival of Lithuanian partners at Barajas Airport. Students will stay over on Saturday 11th in the Hostal.
Free time.
SUNDAY 12th APRIL 2015
11:25: Arrival of Turkish, Polish, Scottish, Portuguese, French and Lithuanian partners at Barajas Airport. They will go to the Hostal.
19:00: Teachers and parents will meet Greek, Turkish, Polish, Scottish, Portuguese, French and Lithuanian partners in the Hostal. Host families will take children home.
20:30: Dinner in “El Aljarafe” Restaurant in Colmenar Viejo.
MONDAY 13TH APRIL 2015
08:15: All participants gather at the reception desk of the hotel.
09:00: Arrival at The Montesclaros School, Our Choir will welcome them and tour of the school.
9:45: Leave school to go to Madrid.
10:30: Coach drops off at The Prado Museum.
12:30: Finish tour of The Prado Museum (if tickets are available. It’s full at the moment).
12:30-12:45: Walk to Retiro Park (we won’t miss walking around the boating lake, statues and street artists all the way round, The Palacio de Cristal, which is a huge ornate glass greenhouse built here).
14:00: Coach picks us up at Park gates and drops us in Puerta del Sol.
14:15: Lunch in “Cervecería Tineo” restaurant near Plaza Mayor.
15:30: Walk 5 minutes to Plaza Mayor for shopping and to show as you walk up to the square the typical old shop fronts, walk past Museum of Jamón. It’s a bar with all the hams hanging up. Typical tiny shops with tourist trinkets ie. There is a lot of cheap tourist souvenirs but also more traditional shops with hand painted fans, religious things or embroidered shawls under the arches. We won’t miss the impressive frescos on the walls around the Square and it’s ideal for the souvenir shopping.

18:00: Meet at school with parents. Children go home and teachers to hotel.

21:00: Dinner in “El Chiscón” Restaurant in Colmenar Viejo.
TUESDAY 14th APRIL 2015
08:15: All participants gather at the reception desk of the hotel.
9:00: Arrival at school and transfer to Madrid to el Museo de la Catedral de La Almudena.
10:15-11:30: Visit to El Museo de la Catedral de la Almudena.
11:30-11:45: Visit to la Catedral de la Almudena.
12:00-13:00: Visit to El Palacio Real. (If tickets are available. It’s full at the moment).
13:15: Coach picks us up and transfer to Colmenar Viejo in the hills close to Madrid.
14:15: Lunch in “La Ermita de Nuestra Señora de los Remedios”. Tour of Ermita and we won’t miss the beautiful landscape.
15:15: Coach picks us up and transfer to school.
15:45-17:00: Teaching Spanish in a Spanish language workshop:
Teachers and students will learn some basic vocabulary.
17:00: Meet at school with parents. Children will go home and teachers to the hotel.
19:30: Project meeting for teachers in “El Chiscón”.
20:30: All partners gather at the reception desk of the Hotel and transfer to Soto del Real to have dinner in “La Cabaña” Restaurant.
WEDNESDAY 15th APRIL 2015
08:15: All partners gather at the reception desk of the hotel.
09:00: Arrival at school.
9:15: Leave school to carry out a route around La Pedriza in the Education Centre.
10:00-13:00: Route around the Pedriza.
13:00: Coach picks us up in the Education Centre and transfer to school.
13:30: Arrival at school.
13:30: Taste our local cuisine in school (delegations, teachers and students will be present).
15:30: Festival: Our Primary students and music teachers will show us typical dancings. Later, Dancing workshop: How to dance typical dancings “Sevillanas” “Chotis”etc. We will teach them how to dance them.
17:00: Meet at school with parents. Children will go home and teachers to hotel.
17:30: Free time.
20:30: All partners gather at the reception desk of the Hotel and have dinner in “La Endrina” Restaurant.
THURSDAY 16th APRIL 2015

9:00: Arrival at school and transfer to Segovia to visit “La Granja de San Ildefonso”.
10:30-11:30: Visit to “La Granja de San Ildefonso”.
11:30-12:00: Walk around the gardens.
13:00-14:15: Lunch at “La Terraza” Restaurant in La Granja.
14:15: Coach picks us up and transfer to school.
15:30-17:00: “Celebration of Saint Cecilia’s Day: Patron Saint of Music”.
17:00: Meet at school with parents. Children will go home and teachers to the hotel.

20:30: All partners gather at the reception desk of the Hotel and transfer to Manzanares El Real to have dinner in “El Doblao” Restaurant.

10:00-11:00: Visit to the town hall in El Boalo, the mayor will welcome us.

15:00-16:00: Powerpoint presentation about the History of Spain.
16:00-17:00: Sports competition in our school.
17:00: Meet at school with parents. Children will go home and teachers to hotel. (Parents will take Greek students to the Hostal in Colmenar)

10:30: Parents will take children to the Hostal in Colmenar Viejo. Departure of Lithuanian group.
11:00: Walk around Colmenar and visit the Basílica.
13:30-15:30: Lunch in the Shopping centre.
16:00: Transfer to the Hostal. Departure of all groups.
