3rd Project Meeting in Arrifana-Portugal, 24th-30th May 2015

The 3rd meeting of the project took place in Agrupamento de escolas de Arrifana, Santa Maria da Feira, in Arrifana-Portugal from the 24th till the 30th of May 2015.

All the partner school participated in this meeting with teachers attending and some with pupils too. The guest teachers and pupils were from:

France: Mrs Sabine Dincuff,

Greece: Mr Ioannis Chatzoglou, Mr Sotirios Gkalipis,

Lithuania:  Mrs Edita Montviliene, Mrs Ingrida Kacinskiene. The Lithuanian group also included two pupils,

Poland: Mrs Anna Pakura, Mrs Emilia Korbanek. There were also four guest pupils at the Polish group,

Scotland: Mrs Linda Mcgowan, Mrs Josie Harkness,

Spain: Mrs Amparo Torrents Barrio. There were also four guest pupils at the Spanish group,

Turkey: Mr Recep Akcakaya, Mr Fikret Oznalcin, Mr Ali Nacar.

 

The program of the meeting week included many activities, visits and dinners.

 

On Sunday the 24th May, which was the arrival date in the evening, there was the reception of all partner teachers and pupils. The pupils received the guest pupils at the hotel and there was a welcome dinner for the guest and some host teachers in a local restaurant.

On Monday the 25th in the morning, there was a reception and a welcome of all guest teachers and pupils it Arrifana school, a presentation of Portugal, a handicraft workshop and a Portuguese folk dance workshop.

In the afternoon a meeting with the mayor of Santa Maria da Feira and all guest teachers and pupils at the municipality of the town and later an activity with traditional games took place in the town’s public park.

The morning program of the 2nd day, Tuesday the 26th, included a visit at Milheiros de Poiares school, where all guests participated in workshop of traditional Fogaca cooking and also in a music workshop. A fogaca snack was offered after the workshops and a lunch in Arrifana school.

During the Tuesday’s afternoon there was a visit in Arrifana’s monument and church, a Maths dance and a Portuguese language, song and music workshop. A project meeting also took place later in the afternoon and in the evening a night walk in Santa Maria da Feira was organized.

The hosting program of Wednesday’s the 27th included a whole day visit at the city of Porto, where the guests visited Palacio da Bolsa and the World of discovery museum. The hosts had also organized a cruise in Douro river and a pic nic in the city park.

On Thursday the 28th, a visit in the town of Aveiro took place where the guest teachers and pupils attended a confectionary workshop of Ovos Moles and visited the Maritime museum of Aveiro, the beach of Costa Nova and the Ecomuseum.

The program of the last day of the visit, Friday the 29th, had a rehearsal of partner’s folk dances, a theatre workshop and an evaluation project meeting. In the afternoon there was a visit at the castle of Santa Maria da Feira and in the evening a farewell party with traditional Portuguese meals and sweets was organized in Arrifana school.

A very nice traditional Portuguese group, who played  folk music and sang traditional songs, participated at the farewell party.
